Colon-Bowel Cleanse
Constipation and improper elimination of the colon can lead to the deposition of faecal matter on the walls of the colon that may remain for days, weeks or even months. This build up of faecal matter reduces the normal exchange and absorptive functions that the colon performs and can cause various health problems: interference with B-vitamin and mineral absorption; inflammation or spacticity of the colon; and auto-intoxication caused by toxic decay of the decomposing retained faecal matter. For this reason various health researchers include colon or "bowel" cleansing as part of their routine health maintenance programs. This category therefore includes the supplements and equipment necessary to perform various colon cleanses (otherwise known as bowel cleasnes) including Dr Hulda Clark's Colon or Bowel cleanse, Ed McCabe's "Oxyflush" and Ancient Herbal Remedies' "Natural Balance". Heavy Metal Detox
In the modern, post-industrial age we are constantly exposed to environmental toxins including solvents, heavy metals, plastics, dyes and pesticides. Accumulation of these toxins, for a variety of reasons, can lead to suboptimal functioning of the cells and organs of the body. When external toxins or cellular metabolic waste accumulates in the body, there is a tendancy towards an acidic systemic pH, which is believed by some to further inhibit the exchange of vital fluids and minerals at the cell surface membrane, further reducing cellular efficiency. Restoration of cellular health then requires alkalinising the body, followed by cellular cleansing, detoxificiation and remineralisation. The contents of this category include a number of supplements known for their ability to bind and remove toxic heavy metals, such as Natural Cellular Defense (Liquid Zeolite), Thioctic acid (otherwise known as Alpha lipoic acid), EDTA and the Ancient Herbal Remedies formula known as "Maestro". Kidney & Bladder
A combination of modern day factors including: excessive consumption of phosphates and oxalic acid through various dietary sources such as cereals, tea, coffee chocolate; imbalanced availability of the minerals calcium and magnesium; and chronic dehydration through insufficient consumption of pure water; can all result in the deposition of micro-crystaline structures in the kidney tubules. As these micro-crystals develop over time, they gradually impair the optimal functioning of the kidney, resulting in suboptimal elimination of internal metabolic wastes and external environmental toxins. To assist elimination of these toxins, various herbs that have traditionally been to used to treat cystitis and to assist dissolution of these urinary crystals are employed as a "Kidney Cleanse". Of the various recipes available, Dr Hulda Clark's recipe is probably the best recognised kidney cleanse today. All of the ingredients required for Hulda Clark's kidney cleanse can be found within this category. Further information is also available through our Further Resources page.
Liver & Gallbladder
Responsible for hundreds of essential chemical processes, the liver may be considered the body's "factory". It is responsible for processing all food materials, packaging them for distribution to the rest of the body, plus the reprocessing, recycling or disposing of all internal metabolic waste, external pollutants and pathogens. This dependence of the whole body upon the liver for production of energy and waste removal means liver problems carry major repercussions for the health of the entire body. Health researchers therefore include liver and gallbladder cleansing as part of their routine health maintenance programs. These traditionally come in three forms: gallstone removal as the "liver flush"; increased bile excretion by use of coffee enemas; and finally as nutrients and herbs traditionally used as a "Liver Tea" to stimulate the enzymes of detoxification. This category of products includes all of the supplements and equipment necessary to perform these techniques, as outlined by Dr Hulda Clark, Dr William kelly and others.
Parasite Cleanse
The "Parasite Cleanse" category is not a single cleanse but rather a collection of Parasite, Fungal & Pathogen cleanses, created by various health researchers. Each of these cleanses aim to support the body's immune system in maintaining homeostatic balance with the pathogenic micro-organisms we are constantly exposed to. The various cleanses use herbs that have been tradtionally recommended for their antiparasitic, antifungal or antibacterial purposes, irrespective of whether these traditional uses are due to a proven direct or indirect antimicrobial effect. This category contains the supplements required to perform several standard cleanses, including Dr Hulda Clark's basic "Parasite Cleanse" and her "Mop up program", Jim Humbles's "Miracle Mineral Supplement", Garden of Life's "Fungal Defense" and Ancient Herbal Remdies "Natural Cleanse". Further information on these and other cleanses are available through our Further Resources page.
Respiratory Support
Our lungs provide the body with oxygen, the raw fuel for all energy production in the body. In the modern age we are constantly exposed to airborne pollutants that stimulate excess mucus production as the body attempts to trap the toxins and damages the cells that normally expel mucus from our lungs. This build up of mucus then reduces the lungs capacity to absorb and deliver oxygen, and thereby energy to every cell of the body. The problem is compounded by the average person performing less cardiovascular excercise than at any time in our history. Our lungs are becoming progressively more polluted, our bodies starved of oxygen, and our breathing muscles weakened through inactivity. For these reasons, health researchers recommend daily: deep breathing (oxygenating) excercises; inspiratory muscle strengthening excercise such as "Power Breathe"; and respiratory cleansing using a Cisca Salt Pipe to eliminate excess mucus.
Skin Cleanses
Skin is a permeable protective barrier, constantly sampling your environment to prepare your immune system for any new challenges. As well as taking in substances from your environment (including toxins from chemical personal care products) this permeability allows your body to excrete metabolic waste through the skin. In fact, the composition of sweat is very similar to urine. In this sense, the skin has been considered by some to be a "third kidney" and for this reason, various health researchers promote skin cleansing programs to help eliminate the build up of toxic chemicals in the skin and subsequently to increase elimination of metabolic waste from the blood by increasing efficiency of perspiration. Skin cleanses using Epsom Salts (Magnesium sulphate), Sodium bicarbonate, French Grey Sea Salt and Hydrogen Peroxide are standard Metabolic Typing procedures.
