The kit was created as a result of several customers struggling to find a plumber that could connect UK standard diameter piping to the US standard fittings provided with the Wellness SIII filter system. The adaptor kit was specifically designed for this purpose by one of our Wellness partners and should make the job of plumbing your system substantially easier.
Whilst we always recommend that our customers use a professional plumber for this work, we recognise that some customers may wish to plumb the system themselves, making use of our downloadable instruction manual.
For this reason, a brief laypersons summary is provided for anyone planning to plumb the system themselves. The chrome fitting in this kit attaches to a standard undersink T-piece unit. As usual, half of the T-piece unit leads to the main kitchen sink – the other half will be used for the Wellness filter. Attach the chrome fitting provided to the side of the T-piece that will be used for the wellness filter. The rotating (mid-point) valve on this chrome fitting must be open for the water to flow. Please check its position before attaching. This valve provides you with an additional shut off valve during filter changes. Alternatively, the chrome piece may be directly attached to any additional UK cold water inlets (eg. water inlets for a washing machine).
Then insert a length of pipe between the chrome fitting and the brass fitting. The length of pipe required depends on the space below your kitchen sink and where you wish to position the unit. This pipe is then attached to the inside of the brass fitting so that it is not crushed when the threaded nut is tightened. The nut may be unnecessary if you have a “push on” type fitting. The wellness filter inlet then attaches directly to the specially constructed end of this brass fitting.
On completion, cold water should flow from the cold water inlet to the chrome fitting, along a length of pipe into the brass fitting, into the Wellness filter inlet pipe, through the filter to the outlet faucet provided.
