Frequently Asked Questions *

Q: Why is calcium supplementation important?
A: A lifetime of regular exercise and eating a healthful diet that includes enough calcium, such as new Living Calcium™ Advanced, helps build and maintain good bone health and may reduce the risk of osteoporosis later in life. Adequate calcium intake is linked to reduced osteoporosis by slowing bone loss in older men and women. Osteoporosis affects middle-aged and older persons, especially Caucasian and Asian women, and those whose families tend to have fragile bones in later years. Help your body build and maintain good bone health with Living Calcium™ Advanced.

Q: What is MCHA calcium and why is it beneficial?
A: MCHA or Microcrystalline Hydroxyapatite is a highly absorbable, body friendly form of calcium. MCHA used in Living Calcium™ Advanced is derived from Australian, grass-fed, freerange cattle. MCHA calcium, provides the mineral matrix of living bone including magnesium and phosphorus, that helps support healthy calcium and bone metabolism.

Q: Why is Vitamin D3 important to this formulation?
A: Vitamin D supports healthy calcium and bone metabolism, especially in persons with low ultraviolet exposure. Living Calcium™ Advanced provides 150% of the recommended Daily Values of vitamin D, in the form of vitamin D3, providing 600 IU in the recommended daily serving. Research supports that higher (than RDA) Vitamin D supplementation supports calcium absorption and metabolism.

Q: Why have you included a Vitamin K Complex in Living Calcium™ Advanced?
A: The Vitamin K Complex is composed of vitamin K1 and vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 in Living Calcium™ Advanced is not chemically synthesized but derived exclusively from Natto, the richest natural source of vitamin K2. Natto is an ancient Japanese food made from fermented soybeans, and significant amounts of vitamin K2 are produced during the fermentation process. Certain fermented foods found in the human diet such as Natto, have significant concentrations of vitamin K. The Vitamin K1 included in this blend has been fermented using Garden of Life’s exclusive Poten-Zyme™ process, which makes nutrients more available to the body. The Vitamin K Complex is important to this formula because it supports healthy bone and calcium metabolism.

Q: What is the Vital Mineral Matrix and why is it beneficial?
A: The Vital Mineral Matrix contains essential minerals (zinc, copper, manganese and boron) organically bound to a whole food matrix, as well as magnesium, to support bone health. Rice protein is used to create amino acid and oligopeptide mineral complexes in a bioactive base. When minerals are bound to a protein from a food source, in this case rice, it makes the minerals more body friendly.

Q: What is the Homocysteine Balance Complex and why is it important?
A: It is common knowledge that normal homocysteine levels are important for heart health. What many people don’t know is that healthy homocysteine levels are also associated with healthy bones. The Homocysteine Balance Complex provides a specialized blend of nutrients (betaine, Poten-Zyme™ B vitamins and folic acid) that support healthy bone metabolism by maintaining normal homocysteine levels.

Q: Is the Ca/Mg ratio appropriate in Living Calcium™ Advanced?
A: Living Calcium™ Advanced does have the preferred calcium/magnesium ratio of 2:1 (1,000mg Ca/500mg Mg).

Q: Who will benefit from using Living Calcium™ Advanced?
A: Any individual who seeks a highly absorbable, body friendly form of calcium along with supportive nutrients, cofactors and minerals to help support optimal calcium absorption and healthy bone density.

A: Label suggested use of Living Calcium™ Advanced is: adults take 6 caplets daily with food. May take 2 caplets, three times
